about Ramadan & 'Fasten, Teilen, Helfen' (fast, share, help)

Salam alajkum !

RAMADAN is half way over :( so let's use the last few days wisely!

a quick checklist for our last couple of days:
  • Charge your Imaan before sheytan comes back again, and for sure he will immediately try to influence you and drag you down - be prepared, be strong and stand tall against him - it's all a question of strong Imaan!

  •  read Quran, there's no better way to come closer to your faith, to Allah swt and his words!

  •  learn about the Sunnah of our beloved Prophet sas

  •   Good deeds - do good, help, share and care! Your ummah, your brothers and sisters in Islam need you!

  • Pray - sunnah prayers, pray on time!, attend taraweeh prayers, watch out for the most special night in the month of Ramadan 'lailat al-qadr' - and again PRAY PRAY PRAY
'Lailat al-qadr' - The night of power
Aisha (ra) resported that she said: 'O Messenger of Allah!
What if I knew which night Lailat al-qadr was, then what should I say in it?' He said say
ALLAHUMMA INNAKA AFFUWUN TUHIBBUL 'AFWA FA'FU'ANNI

اَللَّهُمَّ اِنَّكَ عَفُوٌّ ، تُحِبُّ الْعَفْوَ فَاعْفُ عَنِّي

O Allah you are the one who pardons greatly, and loves to pardon, so pardon me.
(Tirmidhi)

  • make Dua - never underestimate the power of dua!
Anas radhiallohu 'anhu narrates that he the Messenger of Allah sas said:

'Supplication (Dua) is the essence of whorship.'
(Tirmidhi)

  • make a Change - did you already achieve your ramdan aims? not yet? no panic, there is still some time left, use it wisely, focus on your aims! Being thirsty, hungry and exhausted is not the sense of ramdan, you have to make a change! Stay down-to-earth, your aim needs to be realistic and possible to reach - otherwise you will be frustrated and disappointed ...

This ramdan I am part of an amazing project called 'Fasten, Teilen, Helfen'(Fast, Share, Help).
It was founded by the MJÖ (muslim youth austria) about 3 years ago!

To all my brothers and sisters living in Austria,  this is request to apply and be part of it! NOW and HERE
To all the brothers and sister who are living anywhere else, I want you to know this outstanding project
and maybe if you haven't heard about something like that yet this could inspire you to do a similar project with people in your area!

I will explain it to you shortly, this project is for humans who are socially deprived.
Kids, elderly people, people in emergency overnight accomodations, asylum seekers and so on.
These people need things that most of us take for granted - TIME, someone who LISTENS,
someone who CARES, AFFECTION, HONESTY, a helping hand, or even just basics like food !

With the MJÖ muslim youth austria we got the chance to reach these people in need, we try our best to help, share and make their day a little better. We do good and we represent a new generation of european muslims! Sometimes people, especially, older ones, are prejudiced against islam, some are afraid and other are curious, it's our job to make a change!

My very first time at 'FTH', we visited a 'home for the aged', when we entered and introduced ourselves, these men and women were looking quite sceptical at us, like they didn't know what to expect - it was touching and heart-warming to see how we took their hearts by storm!

These sceptical faces were gone, turned into smiles and happiness!
After some great hours of talking, answering questions, playing games we touched their hearts and
they didn't even want us to leave, were aksing us when we'll come back and gave us applause!
I guess if they'll see any other muslim men or women they won't be as sceptical again, we made a change!

It was a group of about twenty people, so that's not the world but the most important fact is we started and if we all give our best, and work together we can reach thousands of people!

So once again, let's make a change !
Be part of 'Fasten, Teilen, Helfen' (fast, share, help) or be inspired to do something similar!

May Allah swt bless those who had the idea for FTH, may Allah swt bless my sisters and brothers of the MJÖ and anywhere else in the world  - we are one Ummah, one big family !

In love,

Samira
