Hijab - struggle & blessing

so many people ask and tell me things like

'your hair is so beautiful? why don't you show it? | why do you hide your beauty?' |
'did you do this because you wanted to or did anybody force you?' |
'is islam your choice, or did you convert for your husband?' |

'why would you show off your religion in public - don't you think this is something personal?  believe in whatever you want to but you don't have to express it with a scarf' |

'Austria ain't a muslim country, this ain't our culture - so you shouldn't wear hijab in Austria, imagine we would wear short dresses and skirts somewhere in Iran, they wouldn't accept it as well!' |

'I'm worried bout your future, you'll never get a good job because of your hijab, why do you chose this hard way? you know people won't accept that anyway, no matter how hard you study & try!' |

NO ONE could ever force me to cover myself, I made my decision all alone, there is NO single human being, no man in the whole wide world I would cover up for, wearing long clothes during Summer and 38 degree, fast during ramadan, pray five times a day - for a man? come on ... Islam & hijab was my choice!

I do this because I love Allah swt, I love Islam and I love the feeling of not getting reduced on the shape of my body, the length of my hair, my beauty or anything like that!
I won't tell you lies: I'm a girl and of course sometimes I'd love to dress up, do my hair and go out with my husband , go swimming during summer and sometimes it is hard to wear hijab because of all the negativity and hatred that the society frequently confronts you with.

When I'm talking bout society, I'm talking bout our ummah as well, salam to the haram police out there! Just a quick note to these guys, you are NO ONE to judge any sister for her clothing and the way she wears her hijab, you aren't allowed to judge her if she doesn't wear hijab, or if a sister doesn't wear it anymore - you are not Allah swt audhu billah ! Some popular bloggers, gorgeous girls by the way, even stopped wearing hijab or stopped to show their faith on social media - I was shocked how rude some other sisters were talking to them!

wearing hijab in "a wrong way", wearing no hiijab, taking it off - not your business!!!

You guys didn't get the meaning of giving advice in a polite way. Pointing at someone with your finger, in social media or real life and talk in a rude and mean way in front of other people ain't islamic behaviour! Giving advice is something you do in a kind and polite way, when no one is listening but the person concerned!

Let's get back to the struggles all of us have every now and then - in fact that's normal, this is the dunya, a lifelong battle and exam, there are up's and down's, your Imaan rises and decreases but the most important thing is to hold on, never give up, fight with yourself, and grow during this process.

You always need to focus on why you wear your hijab, because Allah swt told you so! That's it, it is so easy, Allah swt knows best what's good for his creation and he wouldn't tell us to cover if it wasn't necessary! The hijab protects us and we should wear it proud like a queen wears her crown! alhamdulillah!

I show off my religion to everybody cause I love my religion and why shouldn't the world know that I'm a believer? Why do people criticise us? Why do they expect us to keep our faith as a secret?
Jews wear their kippa, many christians wear a cross, buddhistic monks wear a cowl and everybody is fine with that? So what's the problem with HIJAB? There is no problem! But media manipulates the world and so people make a big thing out of muslim women wearing hijab ... may Allah swt give us sabr !

When strangers talk to me in a rude way because of my hijab one of their fav arguments is 'we are living in Austria, so why are you wearing a scarf? this is our country and you have to integrate in our society and culture - you should go back to where you came from'  .... well surprise surprise I'm Austrian, I love my country and so there's no where I could go back to, cause I am at home! haha

Austria ain't a christian state, of course majority of Austria's citizens are christians but in fact our law guarantees us freedom of faith and Austria was the first European state that granted Muslims the status of a recognized religious community, about 102 years ago. So I think there is anything left to say, islam is a part of our society, about 500.000 muslims are living in Austria, a lot of Austrians revert to islam. It would be much easier if people would try to deal with it ...  not only easier for us, easier for both sides and people need to understand that not all muslims are immigrants!!!!

And even if a lot of immigrants don't work / don't speak German (well sometimes it is the political system's fault, some are not allowed to work & some don't get the chance to learn German in a proper way - in a language course) / got bad behaviour it doesn't mean that ALL MUSLIM immigrants are like that!!!!

Even if I wouldn't be Austrian, many friends of mine are arabian and bosnian, most of them are born here, they speak perfect German just like Austrian people do, grew up here, went to school here, study here, work here - so what? they are at home as well !!! It's just so damn wrong that hijabi's hardly find a job in Austria ... for example: Germany makes progress much faster than we do, muslim women and men are a part of society over there, they get accepted, many sisters are working with hijab at normal companies like H&M / Ikea / DM and so on ... the only company that employs hijabis over here in Austria is Primark ^^ ...

will tell you more about my experience what it's like to work with hijab / to try to find a job as a hijabi
but will do that in another blogpost, some time soon!
