'a hijabi's outfit for a wedding'

SALAM ALAJKUM !

This was my outfit for my husband's uncle's wedding :)

It was a beautiful little caucasian wedding with about 40 guests (everyone who ever visited a caucasian wedding knows how big and bombastic they usually are), both, bride and groom are in their 30s and 40s that's why the wanted to keep the wedding on a small scale. One big room for the ladies, another room for the men - so they kept it halal, this was basically the first 'halal' wedding I've ever attended. No music or dance, men and women seperated, mashAllah may Allah swt bless their marriage. At first I didn't think it is possible but it was big fun!  There was lot's of delicious food, alhamdulillah that I decided to wear a skirt - otherwise I would probably have bursted out of my dress! :))

Wait, no I wasn't eating all day long xD also I was responsible for catching the beautiful moments and turn them into memories - so the whole photography thing, shot about 500 photos, yeah ... lot's of editing !

Das war mein Outfit für die besagte Hochzeit, geheiratet hat der Onkel meines Mannes.

Es war eine schöne, kleine kaukasische Hochzeit, ungefähr 40 Gäste (jeder der schon mal eine kaukasische Hochzeit gesehen hat, weiß wie groß und bombastisch diese für gewöhnlich sind!). Der Grund dafür ist das Braut und Bräutigam schon in ihren 30- und 40ern sind und dementsprechend das ganze in kleinem Rahmen halten wollten. Ein großer Raum für die Damen, ein anderer für die Herren  - also quasi eine halal Hochzeit. Im Prinzip war es die erste dieser Art die ich je besucht habe, keine Musik, kein Tanz, Männer und Frauen getrennt, mashAllah möge Allah swt ihnen den Segen für ihre Ehe geben. Ich hielt es nicht für möglich aber doch, es war wirklich ein großer Spaß! Alhamdulillah, glücklicherweise habe ich mich für einen Rock entschieden den bei der großen Menge an köstlichem Essen wäre ich wohl oder übel aus meinem Kleid geplatzt ! :))

Moment mal, nicht das ihr jetzt denkt ich hätte den ganzen Tag nur gegessen. Ich war auch dafür zuständig die schönen Momente einzufangen und sie in zeitlose Erinnerungen zu verwandeln - also ich war es die die Hochzeit fotographiert hat, so um die 500 Fotos sind dabei entstanden, jaaaa ... jede Menge zu bearbeiten!

A night out with all the girls, it's kind of hard work to get them at one place at the same time.

But VOILA we managed it and we had a blast! Lot's of tasty food, girl talk and fun.

As only two of us are Austrian and the rest is from Arabia / Bosnia it seems like an international meeting 

to me, especially when I end up interrupting their conversations cause all I understand is - NOTHING when they unconsciously switch in their mother languages. :) haha

A secondary effect of our meetings is - we attract lot's of attention!

People seem to be confused or frightened to see about 12 ladies with a hijab in a restaurant at once

and can't stop starring at us ... haha ... freaks !

By the way I had some french toast, it was a mouth watering dessert - so delicious!

 oh please don't remind me of the thousands of calories :( 

There was this girls night and a wedding, so I had to wear something that would suitable for both events.

I decided to keep it classy and modest but still comfortable. A beautiful chiffon maxi skirt from H&M,

that I got about three weeks ago in the sale  for 15 instead of 30 Euro and a beautiful white Mango blouse.

Added my favourite Imaan and Beauty scarf, boots with heels and one of my favorite watches, Breitling.

This watch means a lot to me as it was a present my dad gave to my mom long long time ago and when I turned 22 she gave it as a present to me. :)

Salam alajkum meine Hübschen !

Bis man seine Freundinnen mal an einem Ort zur selben Zeit versammelt hat bekommt man beinahe graue Haare. Ja, das ist harte Arbeit aber voila wir haben es geschafft und hatten einen wundervollen Abend !

Viel gutes Essen, Frauengespräche und Spaß. Da wir in dieser Gruppe nur zwei Österreicherinnen unter einigen Araberinnen und Bosnierinnen sind, gleichen unsere Treffen manchmal auch einem internationalen Meeting und manchmal erwische ich mich dabei, die Ladies in ihren vertieften Gesprächen zu unterbrechen wenn sie wieder einmal unbewusst in ihre Muttersprache gewechselt haben und ich genau !gar nichts! mehr verstehe xD

Ein weiterer Nebeneffekt dieser Treffen ist, dass wir jede Menge Aufmerksamkeit und Blicke auf uns ziehen.

Irgendwie scheinen die Leute verwirrt und verängtigt zu sein, wenn sie gleich zwölf Frauen mit Kopftuch in einem Restaurant sehen ... Freaks ! haha 

Übrigens muss ich euch von meinem erstklassigen Dessert erzählen, ich hatte French Toast!

Einfach unglaublich lecker, aber bitte erinnert mich nicht an die Kalorien die ich da verzehrt habe :(

An diesem Tag war übrigens nicht nur unser Mädchenabend sondern auch eine Hochzeit, also musste ich etwas anziehen das für beide Anlässe passend wäre, klassisch und edel aber trotzdem bequem. Die Wahl fiel auf meinen erst kürzlich im Sale gekauften Chiffon Maxirock von H&M (15 statt 30 Euro), eine weiße Bluse von Mango, meinen Lieblingshijab von Imaan and Beauty, meine dunkelblauen Stiefel mit Absatz und meine hübsche Lieblingsuhr von Breitling. Diese Uhr bedeutet mir sehr viel, sie war vor langer langer Zeit ein Geschenk von meinem Vater an meine Mutter und diese gab sie an meinem 22. Geburtstag an mich weiter.

Obsessed with this cheesecake

Salam alajkum meine Herzchen'

gehts euch wohl gut meine Lieben? in shaa Allah, denn es sind ja ziemlich viele Leute krank zurzeit :(

auch mich hat's vor zwei Wochen so richtig erwischt, Angina, aber alhamdulillah langsam bin 

ich auf dem Weg der Besserung und im Bettchen mit einer Tasse Tee lässt es sich doch ganz gut bloggen ...

Heute habe ich ein paar Schnappschüsse für euch, vom besten Cheesecake der Stadt.

Ja ich sag es nochmal, vom ALLERBESTEN Cheesecake der ganzen Stadt!

Jetzt hör ich euch natürlich fragen 'Samira WO gibt es diesen Cheesecake?'

Na dann ... so ganz unter uns verrat ich's euch ... im Grazer Kultlokal Blendend.

Das Blendend ist generell wie ein zweites Wohnzimmer, man kommt hinein und fühlt sich einfach

wohl! Die Einrichtung und Dekoration schwankt zwischen heimelig, kunstvoll und Vintage!

Aber auf das will ich jetzt gar nicht hinaus denn das Blendend hätte einen eigenen Post verdient, mache

ich hoffentlich auch mal! Nur eines noch jeder - egal ob Tourist oder Einheimischer sollte einmal dort gewesen sein zum Brunch am Wochende, zum Kuchen essen - wann auch immer und Freitag's wenn die beste Lasagne der Stadt als Mittagsmenü serviert wird! 

Achtung streng limitiert, reservieren könnte nützlich sein!

Eine liebe Freundin hatte Geburtstag, nur falls ihr euch wegen der Kerzen wundert, keine Haram-Police Anmerkungen bitte! Es wurde weder auf Sessel noch Tischen getanzt, wir wurden nicht von lauter Musik beschallt und noch nicht mal ein Tropfen Kindersekt ist geflossen  ^^ 

Einfach ein lustiger, angenehmer Nachmittag unter Mädls, alhamdulillah!

 autumn time is flu time and so I am in bed with angina for already two weeks :o(

but all it needs is a cup of tea, my bed and some blogging ...

Today I got a few snapshots of the best cheesecake in town.

Oh yes, I'll repeat: the BEST cheesecake in town!

I'll tell you ... Austria - Graz -  in my favorite pub, named Blendend.

Blendend is like a second living room, just a place to feel at home and comfortable.

The furniture, the decoration is kind of homelike, vintage and artful ... won't tell you much more cause

this special pub needs a own post. Just some more tips if you ever get the chance to get there - 

1. eat some cake, chocolate-tarte or cheesecake | 2. friday is lasagne day (oooh eeem geee nomnomnom) it's the best lasagne in town and very limited -  so you better make a reservation | 3. weekend is brunch time !

It was my girls birthday, we had a wonderful afternoon alhamdulillah :)

(no haram-police please, no music, no dancing on chairs and tables or anything 

like that - just a nice time out with the girls )
